KZN Premier opens dialogue for KwaMbonambi community
Violent protests, roadblocks and destruction to property were condemned
KZN Premier Sihle Zikalala has urged community members to raise concerns through proper channels, as his office is always open to the people of the province.
He condemned violent protests such as roadblocks and the destruction of property.
Addressing thousands of community members at an imbizo in KwaMbonambi, Zikalala delivered a progress report about the chieftaincy of the Mbonambi community and also discussed other matters of concern in the area.
He gave the assurance that the provincial government was committed to the development of the region, as well as overcoming challenges hindering progress of the people of KwaMbonambi.
Zikalala was accompanied by MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison Bheki Ntuli, MEC for Health Nomagugu Simelane, MEC for Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs Sipho Hlomuka, MEC for Human Settlements and Public Works Peggy Nkonyeni, King Cetshwayo District Mayor Nonhle Mkhulisi, City of uMhlathuze Mayor Mdu Mhlongo, uMfolozi Mayor Simangaliso Mgenge, as well as senior officials from various government departments and municipalities.
