Two nabbed for possession of stolen vehicle in Jozini
Jozini CPF Chairperson, Joseph Ngubane, said that the two intended to smuggle the vehicle through the Kosi Bay border
A POLICE tip-off led to the arrest of two foreign nationals found in possession of a white Land Cruiser suspected to have been stolen in Botswana.
The suspects – one from Zambia, and the other from Swaziland – were arrested in Jozini on Wednesday.
Jozini CPF Chairperson, Joseph Ngubane, said that the two intended to smuggle the vehicle through the Kosi Bay border.
Ngubane said that during the arrest the suspects told the police they were working with a member of the South African Police Services at the border gate.

Police spokesperson, Colonel Thembeka Mbhele, said Pongola SAPS were conducting crime prevention patrols along the N2 when they received information about a stolen Land Cruiser entering the Pongola central business district.
‘They spotted it and discovered that it was indeed stolen. Two suspects aged 32 and 64 were arrested for possession of stolen motor vehicle,’ she said.
Mbhele could not confirm the allegations that the two were working with a certain police officer at the border gate, or the nationalities of the suspects.
‘The two suspects appeared in the Pongola Magistrate’s Court on Thursday and were remanded in police custody for further investigation.
‘They are expected to appear in the same court onThursday for a formal bail application,’ Mbhele said.
