WHILE residents awoke to pouring, welcome rain on Monday, this followed a fantastic weekend of warm sunshine as locals made the most of the late summer conditions while the port functioned as busily as ever

While the small boats enjoyed their recreational activities, work at the busy port continued with vessels such as the ‘Red Lily’ making its way to load cargo

The dredger ‘Ilembe’ was hard at work, clearing the shipping channels and depositing the spoil just north of Alkantstrand to replenish the sand on the beach

The day certainly was a ‘Goody’ for this captain and crew
