Major funding opportunity for NPOs
South African Women's Rights organisations are invited to apply for funding and visit the www.genderlinks.org.za website to determine whether they are eligible for grants
A TEAM from Gender Links, a non-governmental organisation, will visit Zululand this month offering technical support to organisations applying for funding from the Government of Canada Women Voice and Leadership-South Africa Fund.
The initiative, managed by Gender Links through its services portfolio, addresses six main elements to promote gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls – human dignity, growth that works for everyone, environment and climate action and inclusive governance, peace and security.
South African Women’s Rights organisations are invited to apply for funding and visit the www.genderlinks.org.za website to determine whether they are eligible for grants.
The fund offers three types of grants:
• Multi-year core funding – four-year grants of R500 000 to R1-million reviewed annually for organisations with an annual income of less than R1-million.
• Networking and alliance building – four-year grants of R500 000 to R1.3-million reviewed annually for organisations anywhere in South Africa that build networks and alliances.
• Rapid response grants of three months to one year of R20 000 to R50 000 for an urgent, catalytic need.
Organisations interested in applying can attend workshops in their areas where officials will be available to provide technical support on the concept documents.
The workshops will be held from 9am to 4pm.
Worshops will be held in eShowe on 12 and 13 February at eShowe Child and Family Welfare (next to town hall), and in Richards Bay on 14 February at the Aquadene community library (4 Via Ammannia).
All applications must be filled in online.
