A 40-year-old man is expected to re-appear at Inkanyezi Magistrate’s Court in eShowe on Monday for a formal bail application after being arrested on Saturday by eShowe SAPS for possession of a stolen vehicle.
King Cetshwayo Cluster police spokesperson, Captain Mbongeni Mdlalose, said that police followed a tip-off about a man who was spotted driving a vehicle which was reported stolen in Richards’s Bay earlier this month.
‘Police followed information which led them to Oftebro Street in the eShowe CBD where the vehicle was spotted.
‘A male suspect who was found inside the vehicle failed to prove ownership of the vehicle and also failed to explain who the owner was.
‘He was arrested for possession of stolen property, and appeared in the Inkanyezi Magistrate’s Court, where he was remanded in police custody for further investigation,’ Mdlalose said.
