Poor state of Mtuba roads cause frustration

Residents' first port of call should be their ward councillors

MTUBATUBA residents are complaining about the poor state of the town’s roads, a matter which has been ongoing in recent years.

In particular, the road between Mtubatuba and the sugar mill, which passes several primary schools, is badly potholed owing to the high volume of heavily laden trucks travelling between the mill and the N2.

There are also no zebra crossings or appropriate pavements for learners who walk to school.

The dirt road which serves to access the industrial part of town was also highlighted by residents as being in an almost undriveable state after recent heavy rains.

Mtubatuba Municipality Communications Manager, Mdu Mahlinza, said he would refer the complaints to the relevant departments, but that residents’ first port of call should be their ward councillors.
