Eskom to implement overnight loadshedding

IN what might sound like a made-up hoax, Eskom earlier this evening (Tuesday) announced it would implement stage 2 loadshedding to accommodate the release of the matric results.

Power cuts will take place between 1am and 6am tomorrow morning.

The power utility said it delayed loadshedding so it would not interfere with the release of matric results at midnight.

This latest round of loadshedding comes as a result of the loss of additional generation capacity, forcing the use of emergency reserves.
