Businessman donates treats to needy families

The donations, an annual initiative, were a kind gesture by Aquadene Housing Project contractor Projecon and local businessman Theo Murugan and family to bring festive cheer to families in dire straits

FOOD parcels and sweet treats were delivered to 20 needy families in Ward 26 Brackenham and Aquadene communities just in time for Christmas.

The donations, an annual initiative, were a kind gesture by Aquadene Housing Project contractor Projecon and local businessman Theo Murugan and family to bring festive cheer to families in dire straits.

Accompanied by Ward 26 Councillor Leslie Joseph and several committee members, the Murugan family personally visited each family at their households to deliver the supplies.

Theo Murugan said it was a joy to help those in need and see families share smiles as they received the parcels.

‘God willing we will do more each year in addition to our ongoing community outreaches and Christmas gift donations for children at a local church.

‘There is no greater gift than that of giving one’s time and energy to help others without expecting anything in return,’ said Murugan.
