High Court puts an end to Last Dance saga
The battle over the event's name appears to have been settled by the Durban High Court
THE Last Dance saga has come to an end, after a Durban High Court ruling that Imbawula Investments has the sole rights to the Last Dance name.
This is according to Imbawula Investments’ Sipho Ndaba who this evening (Wednesday) issued a statement claiming the court ruled that his event, set to take place in Ballito this year instead of Richards Bay, is the only Last Dance.
A highlight on the Richards Bay calendar for the past nine years, Ndaba this year moved the event to Ballito amid claims of ‘political interference’.
A legal battle ensued when the City of uMhlathuze organised its own uMhlathuze Last Dance, set to take place in Richards Bay this new year’s eve.
At this stage it is not known whether or not the City of uMhlathuze will appeal the decision.
