Swimming lessons for nannies
'The more people who know how to handle themselves well in the water, the safer our community will be, especially during the summer holidays when beach days are enjoyed by all,' said Debi
RECOGNISING the vital importance of water safety, especially now during the festive season, one Richards Bay swimming teacher has identified a need within the community.
Debi Staal has extended her expertise to teaching domestic workers and nannies how to swim.
‘The more people who know how to handle themselves well in the water, the safer our community will be, especially during the summer holidays when beach days are enjoyed by all,’ said Debi.
‘My vision is to equip domestic workers, child caregivers and nannies with swimming knowledge so, apart from being safer themselves in the water, they can also ensure the children in their care are kept safe when in or near water.’
Debi said that as most parents have to work and are forced to leave their children in the care of nannies, their minds would be set at ease knowing that someone with knowledge of swimming and water safety is looking after their children.
She also offers Learn to Swim lessons for both children and adults.
