Spotlight on grooming young men

Organised by the KZN Department of Arts and Culture, the five-day workshop, Umkhosi Woselwa, began on Wednesday at the Nyokeni Royal Palace in Nongoma

HIS Majesty, King Goodwill Zwelithini kaBhekuzulu, will lead a workshop aimed at grooming young men to become responsible citizens.

Organised by the KZN Department of Arts and Culture, the five-day workshop, Umkhosi Woselwa, began on Wednesday at the Nyokeni Royal Palace in Nongoma.

Thousands of young and old members of regiments are expected to descend on the royal homestead for this annual event, and perform rituals associated with grooming young men to become responsible adults.

KZN MEC of Arts and Culture, Sport and Recreation, Hlengiwe Mavimbela, has encouraged her departments to ensure the success of the ceremony, an important nation building exercise which also teaches boys to understand that women are their equals who deserve to be treated with respect.
