eSikhaleni woman is seeking counselling to deal with the trauma of witnessing her boyfriend being stabbed to death by three men in the Mtubatuba

A TRAUMATISED eSikhaleni woman is seeking counselling to deal with the trauma of witnessing her boyfriend being stabbed to death by three men in the Mtubatuba central business district last Friday.
S’mangele Fakude (23) said she was struggling to come to terms with what she witnessed.
‘My boyfriend was waiting for me in town to take me to meet his family in the Qakwini area near Mtubatuba, when he was attacked and killed.
‘On our way to the taxi rank, my boyfriend stopped next to a store to chat with someone who used to work with him. I stood back. ‘Suddenly he was surrounded by three men.
It appeared as if they had an argument and he was stabbed in the chest and fell down,’ Fakude said. ‘He was bleeding profusely and I screamed for help, but people just stared at me as if I was crazy.
‘Not a single person bothered to assist me so we could rush him to hospital and he died in my arms.’
Mtubatuba police spokesperson, Captain Justice Hlabisa, confirmed the incident, saying the motive for the killing is still unknown.
