Teaching young boys to be proper men
March against women and children abuse on Monday morning
SHAPING young boys to become great men is the core message behind the Boys to Men march scheduled for Monday morning.
Men of all ages, as well as women, are invited to join the launch of the community initiative which will kick off opposite the Zululand Observer Empangeni offices at 8am.
The launch will include a peaceful march form Central Park to Sanlam Centre Empangeni.
The initiative is spearheaded by Shakes Ngema of Galawela Music Production in a joint venture with Sanlam Centre Empangeni and Sivanada World Peace Foundation and the SAPS.
‘South Africa is facing a crisis when it comes to women and child abuse, and research has revealed this is because of a lack of discipline and anger from men.
‘This campaign is aimed at grooming the young boy to become a real man because the abuse of women is becoming a fashion,’ said Shakes.
The meeting point is at the municipal grounds opposite the ZO, and when the march reaches its endpoint, there will be lots of entertainment on offer.
