Pick up your next family member at the SPCA

THERE are many beautiful and loving dogs and cats, puppies and kittens up for adoption at Richards Bay SPCA.

So why not consider adopting your next pet rather than shopping for one.

This young female adult Chow-cross is up for adoption at Richards Bay SPCA.
She has a gentle, loving nature and would bring much love to any family.
She is in kennel C4

Anyone wanting to adopt one can contact the SPCA on 035 7532086, or visit them at their premises in Bayview Boulevard, Meerensee.

A strict adoption procedure applies.

Prospective owners must complete an adoption application form, after which SPCA inspectors undertake a property inspection.

There are two grey and white cats up for adoption. They are young adults, one male the other a female.
They are in kennel N15

Adoption fees apply.

This is a once-off fee which includes vaccinations, de-worming and sterilisation (if older than six months), and given a SPCA identification tag.

A gentle giant, this adult male Rottweiler is looking for a family and home to call his own.
He is calm and very friendly, and is in kennel C10

‘I want to thank all those generous, animal-loving members of the community who continue to support us on a regular basis,’ said SPCA Manager, Shelly Prinsloo,

‘Without their help we cannot carry out our much-needed services of attending to animal cruelty and caring for stray and abandoned animals.’

There is a variety of puppies up for adoption. Some are Pekingese-cross, others are Toy pom-cross while still others are cross breeds, and all are different ages and genders.
They are very energetic and would be a happy addition to any family

Many animals come through the SPCA’s gates every day and the NPO is in dire need of funds to care for them.

December is always a busy time of year, filling the shelter’s kennels and cattery.

Puppy and kitten food is very welcome owing to the number of puppies and kittens in the SPCA’s care.

‘We would also like to ask anyone who has any old collars and leads, blankets or animal toys, to consider donating these items to us, as they are very handy when we pick up stray dogs.’

He can be found in kennel N14
