A 12-year old girl was found wandering in the Hluhluwe central business district last week, but police could not identify her or determine her address as she is not communicating.
According to uMkhanyakude police spokesperson, Captain Jabulani Mdletshe, the girl only gave her name, Bandile, and said she lives with her grandmother, but could not provide any more information. ‘She was taken to Mseleni Hospital where she is temporarily being cared for.
We tried by all means to get her to speak, but to no avail,’ said Mdletshe.
KZN Department of Social Development spokesperson, Mhlaba Memela, said social workers would assist in working with the girl.
Anyone with any information that could lead to identifying Bandile’s family can contact social worker Phumelele
Nyawo on 035 5711000 or 083 3476755.
