Stolen vehicle found in Mtubatuba
It is reported that the Crime Intelligence Unit was following up on information about a vehicle reported stolen in the Mpumalanga township in Hammersdale, outside Pinetown
AN intelligence-driven operation conducted by KwaMsane police and the Crime Intelligence Unit led to the arrest of a 27-year-old suspect for being in possession of a stolen vehicle at Gwabalanda Reserve in Mtubatuba last Thursday.
It is reported that the Crime Intelligence Unit was following up on information about a vehicle reported stolen in the Mpumalanga township in Hammersdale, outside Pinetown.
uMkhanyakude Cluster Police spokesperson, Captain Jabulani Mdletshe, said police went to a homestead where they found a Polo Vivo, parked in the yard.
‘When they questioned the owner of the vehicle, the suspect told police he bought the car form someone for an amount of R9 000, but when the vehicle’s details were checked, it showed up as stolen,’ said Mdletshe.
‘The suspect was arrested and charged for possession of a stolen motor vehicle and is expected to appear in the KwaMsane Magistrate’s Court on Friday.’
