Thousands of residents gathered at Princess Langazane High School in Ngodini Reserve for the community prayer session

A NUMBER of young girls who died in a tragic accident on the P230 road during the Easter holidays were remembered on Sunday.

Thousands of residents gathered at Princess Langazane High School in Ngodini Reserve for the community prayer session.

Spearheading the wreath-laying session are uMlalazi Municipality Mayor – Cllr Thelumoya Zulu and KZN MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison – Bheki Ntuli

Pastors from various congregations not only shared the platform for the interfaith prayer, but also sought God’s intervention to heal the wounds of families who had lost their loved ones.

As part of the remembrance, uMlalazi Municipality Mayor Cllr Thelumoya Zulu, KZN MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison Bheki Ntuli and other community leaders laid wreaths at the scene when the young girls died.

The programme also formed part of the Transport Month commemorations.
