Have a breast screening done or have your blood pressure, blood glucose, and cholesterol levels tested on Saturday, 26 October

In an effort to promote breast cancer awareness during October, Melomed Richards Bay will be offering a free health screening and breast awareness session to the public on Saturday, 26 October.
The hospital will conduct free breast screenings, as well as blood pressure, blood glucose and cholesterol screening tests.
Hosted by Melomed Specialist General Surgeon, Dr Natasha Naidoo, the aim of the campaign is to ensure that more people conduct regular self-examinations and mammograms, which are key to early detection. Dr Naidoo will also be giving an informative talk on breast cancer as early detection is essential for effective treatment and a good outcome.
The public is invited to visit the hospital between 9am and 11am on the day.
The incidence of breast cancer among South African women is increasing and it is one of the most common cancers among women in South Africa. It is the most prevalent cancer among White and Asian women and the second most prevalent cancer among Black and Coloured women. One in 10 women will develop breast cancer and most cases can be unrelated to family history. Remember, breast cancer can affect men as well.
