THE KwaDukuza Regional Court sentenced Skhumbuzo Ngogwana (26) to life imprisonment last Wednesday for raping a 59-year-old woman.
The court heard how Ngogwana brutally raped a woman at Mzulwini in Maphumulo.
On 1 January last year the victim was asleep in her house when she heard a knock on her door just after midnight.
She immediately contacted her children, informing them of the aggressive knocking. When Ngogwana heard her making the call, he forcefully kicked open the door, dragged her out of the house and repeatedly raped her.
He was arrested the next day. He was refused bail and kept in custody until his sentence.
