Thunderstorm warning for north-eastern KZN

Parents and teachers must ensure that children in their care remain safe at all times during challenging weather conditions

KZN disaster management teams are on high alert following a warning of thunderstorms in the north-eastern parts of the province, with the risk of heavy downpours from tonight into early hours of tomorrow.

Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (Cogta) MEC, Sipho Hlomuka, has urged vulnerable communities to pay close attention to changes in the weather conditions and to take necessary safety steps.

Motorists have also been urged to drive carefully in the wet conditions. Parents and teachers must ensure that children in their care remain safe at all times during challenging weather conditions.

Disaster management teams will keep a close eye on areas that are prone to localised flooding as a result of heavy downpours.
