According to police, Lwazi Tembe left home in Mzileni area, Thengane Reserve on Monday, 30 September after telling his parents he was visiting his school teacher

EMANGUZI SAPS is appealing to members of the community to assist in locating a 12-year-old boy, who was reportedly kidnapped by an unknown person last week.

According to police, Lwazi Tembe left home in Mzileni area, Thengane Reserve on Monday, 30 September after telling his parents he was visiting his school teacher.

Police spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Thulani Zwane, said since then Tembe has been missing, and his teacher has subsequently denied ever inviting him for a visit nor communicating with him.

‘A case of kidnapping was opened at eManguzi police station, and the docket has been transferred to the Jozini Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit for investigation,’ Zwane said.

Zwane further urged anyone with information of Tembe’s whereabouts to contact the investigating officer Detective, Sergeant Xolani Mdluli on 073 742 3363 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
