MEC Khoza wants criminals behind bars

Call to arrest those responsible for break-ins at government offices

KZN Social Development MEC, Nonhlanhla Khoza, has expressed anger at the recurring break-ins at government offices during which office equipment and valuable documents are stolen.

Khoza said she was concerned that valuable documents with personal details of people appeared to be the target of the criminals.

Speaking to department employees of the Midlands districts (Umzinyathi, Amajuba and Uthukela) during a roadshow, she said she was not happy that law enforcement agencies have been unable to track down the criminals who break into government offices.

‘We want to see the public working closely with the police to expose these criminals.

‘It is hard to believe that criminals continue to target social development and SASSA offices.

‘We need the justice, crime prevention and security clusters to crack down on these criminals.

‘I know that some members of the public know these criminals and we urge them to alert the police.’
