Zululanders show support for victims of abuse
Many women took to social media, expressing their concerns about their safety through the #AmInext? campaign

Zululand Observer staff, schools and businesses in the City of uMhlathuze on Friday heeded the call to wear black in support of victims of abuse and the #AmINext? movement.
This comes as the nation continues to mourn the women who lost their lives in violent crimes and those who have been, and currently are, victims of abuse.

Anger was fueled after 19-year-old University of Cape Town student Uyinene Mrwetyana and boxing champion Leighandre Jegels were killed. Countless other reports of murder and rape were reported during the same time.

Many women took to social media, expressing their concerns about their safety through the #AmInext? campaign after the public learned that Mrwetyana was raped and murdered by a 42-year-old employee of the South African Post Office.
