A 33-year-old suspect is expected to appear in the KwaMsane Magistrate’s Court today to face a charge of unlawful possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
uMkhanyakude Police Cluster spokesperson, Captain Jabulani Mdletshe, said the suspect was arrested at his house in the Nkonjane area in Mtubatuba by KwaMsane police on Saturday, following a tip-off.
‘Police went to search the house of the suspect and found a 9mm Parabellum pistol with seven rounds of ammunition.The serial number of the firearm was filled off, and the suspect was arrested after failing to produce documents for the firearm,’ he said.
