Two suspects nabbed for theft and bribery

MANGUZI police have arrested two suspects aged 35 and 38 for possession of stolen property and bribery on Sunday afternoon.
According to the police the 38 year-old suspect was found in possession of a truck, believed to have been stolen in Mpumalanga and which was en route to Mozambique.

‘Shortly after the arrest, the 35-year-old suspect approached the police and offered them R10 000 to release the arrested man,’ said police spokesperson, Colonel Thembeka Mbhele.
‘He was immediately arrested and charged for bribery. Our preliminary investigation revealed that the 38 year-old suspect was out on bail.
‘He was arrested two months ago after he attempted to cross the border with another truck stolen in Pretoria, and is due to appear in the Empangeni Magistrate’s Court on 30 August for that case,’ said Mbhele.
