What’s on in Zululand this weekend
There are numerous events to choose from, as well as future events to diarise

RICHARDS Bay and surrounds are abuzz with entertainment events this weekend so if you find yourself at a loose end, diarise some of the following.

Friday 6pm – GREAT fun is expected to be had at Richards Bay Mission to Seafarers’ music evening.
Be sure not to miss out on this fun-filled musical fund-raising event.
For just R50 per person, visitors can sing along to great hits and enjoy a delicious meal cooked by the mission’s talented cooks.
And, for just R20, you stand the chance to win a hamper filled with delicious goodies.

Saturday 10am – 2pm – Due to public demand, the Richards Bay SPCA is opening its premises for a market day this weekend. Please note this will not replace the usual market day at month end, it is an extra opportunity for supporters to browse through the organisation’s charity shops. From household items to jewellery, books, toys, pet goodies and delicious food, there is something for everyone and no one will want to miss out.

Saturday – Catch Dynasty Entertainment’s Glamour Nights event at the Umfolozi Casino Resort’s Sugar Room with DJ Nivaadh Singh and a spectacular line-up of entertainment.

Saturday 8am – 5pm – Empangeni High School is celebrating its 62nd anniversary by holding a market day. This is one celebration that no one will want to miss out on. Among the host of family fun day activities on offer is a 5km walk starting at 7.30am on the school rugby field. For more information, email julie@ehs.org.za.

Saturday 8.30am – Teams will go head-to-head in a series of challenging games at the annual Oddball Olympics hosted by St Catherine’s School. The fund-raising event promises to be a lot of fun and will start at 8.30am.
Upcoming events to diarise:

1 September 8am – NORTH Coast Anti-poaching will host its first ever Spring Day beach clean-up and encourages all to join in.
The clean-up will be held at the Bay Hall and is a fund-raising drive for the anti-poaching volunteers to continue carrying out their much-needed water patrols.
There will be a prize for the best dressed team, so get creative and dress according to the theme.

7 September 7.30am – The annual SANCA/Eyethu Baywatch Walk away from Drugs is being held at the Zululand Multisport Club in Meerensee. This fun5km walk with prizes for schools is open to everyone, and schools are encouraged to ensure as many of their learners as possible participate.
