Road closures begin in eSikhaleni

Roads will be closed to the public from 8am and 4pm to accommodate construction work

THE eSikhaleni main intersection road upgrade which is now under way will cause a few road closures.

The first closure commenced today at the Mdlebe Mtshona Road and Mthombothi Road intersection.

Roads will be closed to the public from 8am and 4pm to accommodate construction work.

During the closures contractors will pulverise, stabilise and conduct premixing in the area.

This will also affect the Mthombothi and Nyezane intersection.

Appropriate signage will be erected and flagmen posted to direct traffic.

Alternative routes will be indicated at strategic points along the detour route.

People residing within the construction areas will, however, be allowed access.

Motorists travelling along Mthombothi Road from the south must turn left at the Mthombothi Road and Nyezane Street intersection.

They can follow Nyezane Street and turn left at the Nyezane and Lwandle Street intersection, and follow Mhlanga Street.

At the Mhlanga Street and Mdlebe Ntshona Road intersection drivers can turn right or left and proceed to the township’s mall.
