Cape Town beach 12th on top 50 world list

A LIST of the 50 most beautiful beaches in the world has been compiled by Big 7 Travel, and South Africa’s Boulders Bay Beach in Cape Town claimed 12th place.
The list was drawn up after 6 100 readers of the travel site voted for their favorite spots on the planet.
The votes were then coupled with data from review sites, as well as Blue Flag status rankings.
Proudly South African treasure
Boulders Beach is a sheltered beach made up of inlets between granite boulders, from which the name originated.
The large colony of African Penguins makes it a tourist hot spot – while the breathtaking beach is a photographers’ delight.
It is located in the Cape Peninsula, near Simon’s Town towards Cape Point.
Colorful enigma
The number one spot on the list went to Zlatni Rat – which is also known as ‘The Golden Horn Beach’ in Croatia.
Big 7 Travel says that even though the beach is named for its horn-like shape, it’s not just its outline that makes it unique.
The geography of the seabed at this point of the coastline means that the water at the shore changes colour from turquoise to dark blue in about 20 short metres, making it a visually stunning beach to visit and photograph.
