The Zululand Historical Museum in the Fort Nongqayi Museum Village hopes to change this perception, and is continuously increasing its range of books and manuscripts available for research purposes

MUSEUMS are not always associated by the general public as places to do research.

The Zululand Historical Museum in the Fort Nongqayi Museum Village hopes to change this perception, and is continuously increasing its range of books and manuscripts available for research purposes.

These may be used on site only and may not be removed, but anyone wishing to make use of the reference material is free to do so.

Copies of specific pages can be made by arrangement with the staff.

The available literature covers, among others, Zululand history, as well as industry, early town planning and conservation.

Curator Hannes Diemont says he is constantly expanding the reference section as and when the budget allows.
