EMPANGENI SAPS is looking for the next of kin of a man who was burnt to death during the harvesting of a sugar cane plantation at Logan Farm in Empangeni in June.
After farm workers had burnt the sugar cane for harvest, an unknown male was found badly burnt.
King Cetshwayo Police Cluster spokesperson, Captain Mbongeni Mdlalose, said the victim was rushed to Ngwelezana Hospital and died the following day.
He said the deceased is estimated to be 30 years of age.
In a separate incident, Mdlalose, said on 27 June this year, a TLB operator dug up the skeleton of a child while performing his work at Qalakabusha Correctional Services at Empangeni Police.
‘We have no idea as to whose skeleton was it. We have opened an inquest docket.
We request anyone who might have information which can help us to identify these bones.
‘We believed that the deceased was between the age of 3 and 4 years.
