Paroled convict in court again
The accused was arrested last Tuesday, after his 25-year-old ex-girlfriend had laid a charge of rape with the police on the same day

A 53-year-old murderer was remanded in police custody after making his first court appearance at Inkanyenzi Magistrate’s Court last week on a new charge of assault and rape.
The accused was arrested last Tuesday, after his 25-year-old ex-girlfriend had laid a charge of rape with the police on the same day.
The victim alleged that she went to the accused’s house in King DinuZulu Township to collect her son’s clothing and when she got there, the accused forced her into the room and ordered her to undress before beating her and sexually violating her.
‘He also assaulted me with a spade on my private part before raping me, leaving me bleeding and scared. All this occurred in March this year.
‘He also threatened to cut me and my son into pieces and bury us in the bush, if I report the abuse to the police.
‘That’s why I never reported this matter to the police for fear of being killed. I then went to the police station on Tuesday to file for a protection order against the accused.
‘While narrating my story at the police charge office, I decided to open a case against him as he had brutally raped and assaulted me,’ she said.
King Cetshwayo Cluster spokesperson, Captain Mbongeni Mdlalose, said the suspect was expected to appear at Inkanyenzi Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday for a formal bail application.
‘He is facing a case of rape and assault. The suspect had previously been convicted of murdering his girlfriend and was out on parole,’ said Mdlalose.
