Blind man gets a new house

LOCAL businessman Ishwar Ramlutchman has once again changed the life of a KwaDlangezwa resident for the better.
Known for his generosity, Ramlutchman last week handed over a fully furnished, one-room house to senior citizen Macaleni Gumede (75), who had struggled for years to get a decent house.
The new house has a toilet and tap water inside.
Gumede survives with an old age grant, and is blind. He uses most of his pension grant to pay people who helps him and keep his shack clean as he lives alone.
‘If I die today, I am sure my spirit will join my ancestors, because I am now living a in a decent house. I used to pay for people who assisted me with firewood and water. I do have electricity, but I can’t use it because I am blind.
‘It is hard for me to use an outside toilet owing to my condition. I have been struggling for a long time to have a decent home. I was living a shameful life, living a shack.
‘God will bless this Good Samaritan who provided me with a proper house. It is very painful that I can’t even see him, I can only hear his voice, but God will bless him,’ said Gumede.
Ramlutchman challenged other businessmen and government leaders to lend more helping hands in assisting needy people.
‘In life we must be driven by our inner spirit, which is drawn by our faith that we have in our master, which says we must serve, and we must do it with compassion.
‘We will continue to help the poorest of the poor as long as we have the ability to do so,’ he said.
