Attack with hammer for saying no to sex

A mother of three children has opened a case of assault after she was allegedly bludgeoned by her lover with a hammer last Thursday night

SHE refused to have sex with her boyfriend, and the next thing she was fighting for her life.

A mother of three children has opened a case of assault after she was allegedly bludgeoned by her lover with a hammer last Thursday night.

The victim, Jabula Mthembu (38), said the incident happened at her home in eNseleni at around 8.30pm, but the ordeal started a week before the brutal attack.

‘We had an argument over his sexual demands.

‘When I returned home after visiting my relatives, he demanded sex and I acceded, twice. But when I refused a third request, he went wild and started swearing at me.

‘He had assaulted me before, that’s why I left my house but he confronted me the next day.

‘He swore at me in front of my neighbours, children and my family. When he left he threatened to kill me,’ said Mthembu.

The victim’s head was repeatedly smashed with a hammer

According to the victim things intensified when her boyfriend arrived at her house on Thursday.

‘He started by assaulting my brother and beat my mother with a stick. When I tried to defend my mother, he hit me with a hammer,’ she said.

Mthembu lost consciousness during the attack and woke up in the eNseleni Clinic with deep head wounds.

The next day she was released from the medical facility and she opened a case at eNseleni SAPS.

The 39-year-old boyfriend was then arrested and appeared in court on Monday.

According to reports he was released soon after. This was not well received by the victim, who now says she is living in fear.

‘I wish the police could have locked him up for good, because he is a danger to me and my family and I am scared he might come and finish me,’ said Mthembu.
