International soccer coaches to host clinic in Richards Bay

The scouting coaches for the Chelsea Junior Academy, Deniz Ombesh and Ray Adjapong (both UEFA B qualified), will conduct a briefing session next Wednesday afternoon, followed by coaching sessions with a set of 16 pre-selected uMhlathuze boys per age group from Thursday to Saturday.

THE Crusaders Football Club will be hosting two highly qualified British coaches in Richards Bay this week to conduct a three-day coaching clinic for school, club and community coaches who mentor players in the U11, U13 and U15 age groups..
The scouting coaches for the Chelsea Junior Academy, Deniz Ombesh and Ray Adjapong (both UEFA B qualified), will conduct a briefing session next Wednesday afternoon, followed by coaching sessions with a set of 16 pre-selected uMhlathuze boys per age group from Thursday to Saturday.
Crusaders FC invites coaches, especially primary school teachers and junior club coaches in the King Cethswayo district to participate in the sessions, observe the type of exercises used for the three different age groups and learn from these highly skilled coaches.
Crusaders coach, Leonard Andrew, said the session viewing for coaches is free and coaches must bring along their note pads, cameras or cellphones to capture the training sessions and share the information with their individual clubs and schools.
Young soccer players and the public will be allowed to view the sessions for free as well.
The clinic has been sponsored by an Anglo American employee volunteer programme called ‘Ambassadors for Good’.
It is the second part of a programme called ‘One Vision’ which was initiated by the club in 2018, and resulted in five U13 uMhlathuze players tour the UK to attend various soccer academies.
The four-day programme will be held at Richards Bay High School in Arboretum :
• Wednesday 3-4pm: UK coaches to meet and greet various stakeholders in the SAFA/DSR structures, including the NRB coaches; 4-5pm: Coaches deliver presentations to the public and selected players and conduct a question and answer session.
• Thursday – coaching clinic for U15 players (9-11am and 11.30-1.30pm).
• Friday – coaching clinic for U13 players (9-11am and noon-2pm).
• Saturday) – coaching clinic for U11 players (9-11am and noon-1pm); U11,U13,U15 festival (1.30-3.30pm).
