Matrics are urged to attend winter classes

'We thank all educators who have sacrificed their family time and are going to be involved in these winter classes; your commitment goes a long way,' KZN education MEC Kwazi Mshengu said

MATRIC learners have been encouraged to attend winter classes that have been set up at various schools and venues across the province.

The revision programme began on Monday this week and will run until 5 July.

It targets learners from poorly performing schools, progressed and struggling learners, among others.

In the King Cetshwayo district, classes are held at eShowe High, Sunnydale Secondary, Empangeni High, Thembimfundo and Vuleka special schools until 22 June.

KZN education MEC Kwazi Mshengu said while the school holidays are a time to rest, Grade 12 learners must take advantage of this opportunity.

‘As much as we want our learners to rest, we believe that hard work and commitment always produce good results. There is no substitute for hard work.

‘We thank all educators who have sacrificed their family time and are going to be involved in these winter classes; your commitment goes a long way,’ Mshengu said.
