BUSA urges businesses to allow workers to vote
'This is a constitutionally enshrined and hard-fought for right'

BUSINESS Unity South Africa (BUSA) has appealed to companies operating on election day to allow workers time to vote.
This as the country prepares for its sixth general election on Wednesday.
BUSA urged businesses to do everything possible to encourage workers to exercise their right to vote.
‘This is a constitutionally enshrined and hard-fought for right which we all cherish.

‘It is in this spirit that BUSA urges all employers, including those that may not be our members, large and small, to ensure that they encourage workers to get to polling stations,’ the organisation said.
‘The IEC shoulders the noble responsibility to ensure that the electoral authority conducts a credible, and free and fair election.
‘We wish the county’s citizens and all the political parties the best in South Africa’s quest towards a successful sixth democratic election,’ BUSA said.
