KZN MEC for Transport calls on road users to exercise caution amidst heavy rains

Kaunda has also warned motorists and pedestrians who are crossing flooding rivers to use alternative routes

The KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison, Mr Mxolisi Kaunda has urged road users to exercise extreme caution on the road as the province is experiencing heavy rains.

Kaunda has also warned motorists and pedestrians who are crossing flooding rivers to use alternative routes.

The Weather Service has issued a warning that the province will be hit by torrential rains. Over the weekend, some parts of northern KwaZulu-Natal have been affected by hailstorm.

“We call upon motorists and pedestrians to be cautious on our roads so that we can save lives. Please maintain the following distance and switch your lights on at all times. Motorists must be patient and reduce speed to avoid unnecessary crashes”, said Kaunda
