Application deadline for social innovation programme

Candidates have until 30 April to submit applications

LOCAL innovators providing solutions to challenges in the health, education, infrastructure, housing and social entrepreneurship sectors, have been called to participate in the Community Chest Impumelelo Social Innovations Awards (CCISIA) programme.

Candidates have until 30 April to submit applications.

The call for applications extends to all nine provinces and targets both urban and rural communities.

Successful applicants will undergo a rigorous, independent evaluation and adjudication process before finalists are selected.

‘The purpose of these awards is to provide a platform for innovation, deep thinking and social intelligence in a space that so desperately needs fresh ideas and deep thinkers who work collaboratively with civil society,’ said Community Chest CEO Lorenzo Davids.

He said they will continue to unearth social innovation and reward creative solutions to public problems through the awards programme, and the accompanying mentorship and master class training.

Applications can be submitted via the www.comchest.org.za website.
