
Are you a Zululand based cooperative, NGO or NPO within the Agricultural sector?
The Richards Bay Industrial Development Zone’s (RBIDZ) Corporate Social Investment Committee calls for expression of interests from cooperatives, NGOs and NPOs who are involved in diverse agricultural projects and cooperatives that are purposed for community upliftment and development, as well as creation of sustainable agribusinesses.
The companies must be based in Zululand (between Mandeni and Pongola).
They must be already be actively involved in these projects and seek assistance in expanding them, sustaining them and/or procuring material and equipment.
They must demonstrate experience and capabilities to develop the agricultural space for the benefit of the communities.
They must also have track record of projects that they have undertaken; as well as demonstrate future sustainability on current and future projects they intend to undertake and execute.
Objectives
The objective of this call for expressions of interest is to set up a list of companies involved in diverse agricultural activities, for the development of cooperatives aimed at community upliftment and development, as well as creation of sustainable food banks.
Background
The Richards Bay Industrial Development Zone (RBIDZ – Special Economic Zone) is a purpose-built and secure industrial estate on the North-Eastern coast of KwaZulu-Natal, linked to the international deep-water port of Richards Bay.
It is a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) tailored for manufacturing of goods and production of services to boost beneficiation, investment, economic growth and the development of skills and employment through domestic and foreign direct investments.
Application Procedure
A standard CSI application form must be requested from the RBIDZ offices and completed in full.
Expressions of interest and proposals must be attached to the application form. Applicants will be excluded from participation if their proposals are not attached to the RBIDZ CSI application form.

Selection Process
The RBIDZ will have a technical team who will review each proposal.
The RBIDZ Board will take a final decision on the expressed interests and proposals. Should you not hear from them within four weeks of the closing date, consider your application unsuccessful, correspondence will be made for successful proposals only.
Closing Date of Submissions
Expressions of interest must be received by no later than Friday, 10 May 2019, at 4pm.
