Communities urged to preserve water

Water Week, which is celebrated nationally, was hosted under the theme 'Leaving no one behind'

THE King Cetshwayo District Municipality last week educated the communities of Nkandla and Mthonjaneni on the importance of water preservation.

The two-day event held at Nqundu Primary School in Nkandla and KwaNomponjwana sports field in Mthonjaneni was part of the district’s Water Week celebration.

Water Week, which is celebrated nationally, was hosted under the theme ‘Leaving no one behind’.

The district event was in partnership with the National Department of Water and Sanitation, KZN Department of Economic Development,Tourism & Environmental Affairs, Richards Bay Industrial Development Zone and KZN Ezemvelo Wildlife.

The celebration was concluded with the official launch of the greater Mthonjaneni SSA4 project scheme, which will provide water to the residents of Ward 9.
