NRB grab a point in the lion’s den

'We knew what to expect and we executed our plan accordingly, knowing they would be formidable adversaries, and certainly we did not have things our own way,' said NRB head coach Brandon Truter

RICHARDS Bay FC showed plenty of fighting spirit as they battled to a goalless draw against NFD title contenders Ajax Cape Town on Friday.

The Cape side, currently in number two spot on the log, are unbeaten at home and were always going to be tough opposition.

‘We knew what to expect and we executed our plan accordingly, knowing they would be formidable adversaries, and certainly we did not have things our own way,’ said NRB head coach Brandon Truter.

‘But we were ready for them and had the better chances in the second half that could have seen us grab all three points.

‘However, if you can’t win, it’s important that you don’t lose, and we are quite happy with the one point in the bag.

‘We have the best run-in of all the sides in the NFD, including four home games, so we will be looking for maximum points and a shot at the promotion play-offs.’
