CRUISE liner Aegean Odyssey slipped into the Port of Richards Bay on Saturday morning, where she docked for a few days before heading south to Durban yesterday (Tuesday) morning.

The passenger ship’s last few months at sea has taken her passengers to, among other places, the Indian Ocean islands of Reunion, Mauritius and the Seychelles, as well as Sri Lanka, India, Myanmar, Thailand and Malaysia.

Aegean Odyssey has eight decks and the capacity to accommodate almost 400 passengers.

She was built in 1973 and is operated by the Aegean Experience Maritime Co Ltd.

Originally built as a ferry, Aegean Odyssey was converted to a cruise liner in 1988 and underwent a substantial rebuild in 2010.
