Murder trial date set

EMPHEMBENI Primary School teacher Sethembiso Mathenjwa (43) will go on trial next year in connection with his wife’s death.

The accused is charged with murdering his partner Mary Jane and defeating the ends of justice by lying about the date of her disappearance in September last year.

He appeared in the Richards Bay Magistrate’s Court last week where the matter was set down for pre-trial on 19 March 2014 and trial on 8 April 2014.

Mary Jane, then a teacher at Mzingazi Primary School, went missing on 12 September and her remains were found in the boot of her burnt-out vehicle in Shayamoya Reserve in Sokhulu a month after her disappearance.
