Kwambo tale of foes continues

The potholes in town are shocking and get larger by the day

IN this festive period one tries hard to remain positive.

But what makes a person lose that sense of joyousness over this period is when we see how our rates and taxes are being spent.

I have to wonder about the priorities of the KwaMbonambi Municipality.

Our verges have not been cut in weeks and we still have light poles which have fallen over without being replaced.

The potholes in town are shocking and get larger by the day.

A massive pothole was ‘repaired’ on a bend on the outer ring road, but this has unfortunately turned into more of a hazard than it was and all vehicles have to veer to the other side of the road to avoid it (for a six month period).

While all this is happening (or not happening), a large clearing within the municipality’s grounds have been cleared up mechanically at a large cost.

A large tent has been set up for a party of some sorts, no doubt at our expense. This really makes me angry. Can we not live in a clean and neat town, considering that we are paying for these basic services?

The last time I wrote in after numerous requests to the municipality, your newspaper aired my letter with photos. It did not take long for the light to be repaired. I am hoping this will be the case again.
