Fun run to raise cancer awareness
Gijima for CANSA event on 3 February at the Zululand Multi Sport Club in Richards Bay
THE Zululand community can get active, healthy and have some fun with the whole family at the same time at the Gijima for CANSA event on 3 February at the Zululand Multi Sport Club in Richards Bay.
The 5km family fun run/walk is aimed at creating awareness about healthy lifestyles and encouraging everyone to participate in the fight against cancer by ensuring individuals follow a healthier diet, exercises more regularly, applying sunscreen and even volunteer to promote cancer awareness.
Registrations open from 7am and the walk kicks off at 8am. It coincides with the commemoration for World Cancer Day on 4 February.

According to local CANSA Community Mobiliser, Thobile Gumede, all proceeds raised during this fund-raiser will be used towards educating the public and offering support services to cancer patients and their families.
Tickets are R100 for adults and R80 for children under 12 years.
