Busani third best in King Cetshwayo district

This young teen from Port Durnford received top marked in maths, physical science, life science, English, agricultural science, life orientation and IsiZulu

LISTENING to her mother’s advice to take education seriously had the desired results for Akhona Busani (17), who not only earned seven matric distinctions, but also saw her finishing as the top Dlangezwa High learner for 2018 and third best in the King Cetshwayo district.

This young teen from Port Durnford received top marked in maths, physical science, life science, English, agricultural science, life orientation and IsiZulu.

Her mother, a high school teacher, is the one who motivated her to work hard and to make education a priority in life.

‘She always told me to remain focused because education will open doors for me. I took her advice and wanted to make her proud,’ said Akhona.

She is now getting ready to further her education at university and study industrial engineering.
