THE ANC in KZN has expressed its sadness at the passing of its freedom fighter Cleophas Mzimela, who died after a long illness.
Party provincial spokesperson, Nomagugu Simelane-Zulu, described Mzimela as a fearless fighter who served in the Luthuli detachment.
‘He was a hero of our movement and participated in the Wankie campaign, which was commanded by the late Chris Hani.’
Simelane-Zulu said Mzimela’s passing was a great loss felt not only by the family, but also by the members of the ANC, and in particular the people of South Africa whom he fought for.
‘We wish to convey our deepest condolences to the Mzimela family in their time of grief.’
