THE SALGA KZN Games played in Kokstad from 6-10 December saw the uThungulu District return in triumph with a bagful of medals.
The uThungulu athletes took gold in men’s football, netball and volleyball.
They also took a number of second-placed (silver) medals in boxing, men’s and women’s rugby, golf, women’s netball and indigenous gammes.
uThungulu also got the award for Best Organised District.
‘They have, indeed, given all the people of uThungulu a reason to be proud,’ said Municipal Manager Mandla Nkosi, who thanked the sports federations, technical teams, staff and players involved.
