AN UNKNOWN man has been taken in for questioning following a false bomb threat at eShowe Mall which took place this morning.
Police and traffic officials evacuated and cordoned off the area after an anonymous person claimed that a bomb had been planted in the mall.

According to King Cetshwayo Cluster Police spokesperson, Captain Mbongeni Mdlalose, the owner of Pick n Pay received a call from an anonymous person who said that a bomb was placed in the store.

‘The mall has been evacuated and police are one scene.

‘Members of the Empangeni K9 Unit as well as the Richards Bay Explosive Unit conducted a sweep of the mall and nothing was found,’ said Mdlalose.
