SOME beautiful dogs and cats up for adoption at the Richards Bay SPCA.
Anyone wanting to adopt one can contact the SPCA on 035 753 2086, or visit them at their premises in Bayview Boulevard, Meerensee.

A strict adoption procedure applies. Prospective owners must complete an adoption application form, after which SPCA inspectors undertake a property inspection.

Adoption fees apply. This is a once-off fee which includes your new pet’s first 5-in-1 vaccination, a rabies vaccination, it will be de-wormed, sterilised (if older than six months) and given a SPCA identification tag.

For pets adopted at younger than six months of age, a sterilisation contract applies.
The SPCA is always in need of donations, whether food, money or items that can be sold in their shops on monthly market days.

Their food store is running very low on food and, in the midst of breeding, they are experiencing a high volume of stray and unwanted puppies and kittens coming through their gates.
‘For those who would like to donate food, we ask if they can please donate soft food for puppies and kittens,’ said SPCA Vice Chairperson Elizabeth Cordiglia.

‘Puppies and kittens are unable to chew, and sometimes digest, hard food, so we really need soft food.’
Anyone who wants to donate can take their items to the SPCA premises in Meerensee.
